It is used to fix the biopsy mouth of endoscope and prevent liquid reflux during the endoscopic surgery.

1) Minimal "spitting" or leakage for general GI procedures
2) Maintains scope pressure while passing devices
3) Helps reduce cross-contamination
4) Eliminates the need to reprocess valves
